Trail is riding well right now and there are no reports of mud, deadfall, or snow.

On the one hand, it’s a wide, beginner-friendly thoroughfare that’s not very exciting. On the other hand, if you bike it at speed, this trail will send you airborne–especially the notorious water bar section. Central Ridge is an important trail because it connects the other trails in the Military Reserve area.

  • teebee July 13, 2020 at 10:30 amJust a heads up...rode Central Ridge yesterday (7/12/20) and came across a very frisky badger right at the edge of the trail. Fortunately no issues, but if you are in the area with your dog you might be very mindful.
  • heavy_braker April 17, 2019 at 11:06 amDry, but watch out for new ruts.
  • r2rtrails March 8, 2018 at 12:23 pmMostly dry on the ridge tops with pockets of very muddy trails as you come down into the Cottonwood trail head. Saw some folks cleaning off bikes and tires of mud with sticks.
  • jdelga February 23, 2018 at 9:24 amLower Military is packed down well. Will be great today for tires and feet. Shane's is a little less packed, but still good traffic. A couple slick spots on Bucktail. But should be a good day on the lower trails.

  • r2rtrails January 25, 2018 at 1:39 pmVery soft and sloppy in the spur trail climb up to the ridge. Standing water in the drains after the rainfall this morning.

caught it frozen this morning, but looks like the beginning section right by cottonwood creek is still a mess. Along the ridge line looks like it would be OK.
