The Buena Vista trail is among the better trails in the Harrison Hollow network. At almost 2 miles, it’s long enough to serve as either a decent jog or part of a quick ride. Like the other trails in the network, Buena Vista is smooth, hardpacked singletrack cut out of classic high desert hillsides. Buena Vista can be linked with Full Sail and the 36th Street crack to connect Polecat Gulch to the Camelsback trails.
Recent Trail Reports
- June 17, 2020 at 8:38 pmLower part dried out and good to go. Some run off erosion and weeds are starting to encroach.
- May 23, 2020 at 10:13 pmCoyote Attack reported today on this trail. One coyote distracted the dog while the other attacked. Dog injured was a large dog and it was able to get loose, but received several, deep bite wounds. After talking to Fish and Game, it is suspected that there may possibly be a den near this trail. Might want to stay off BV with dogs.
- March 8, 2018 at 3:08 pmSome spots of surface mud.
- February 26, 2018 at 5:04 pmMixed conditions of packed snow, slush and mud. Sadly the muddy sections were soft enough I turned around.
- February 22, 2018 at 1:44 pmSo much fluffy white stuff! Hiked the outer loop including Hippie Shake, Who Know, Buena Vista, Robert Smylie, Full Sail and Harrison Hollow. Looked like only a couple people had been up there so we we hiking in atleast 3 inches of snow but I’m sure that will get packed down soon! Wear some traction and hike with trekking poles-you’ll be glad you did!
