Looking for technical riding in Boise? Craving some gnar? You found it. Rock Island is loaded with rock rollers, small drops, wallrides and few small kickers. Many of the features are optional, but if you hit them all, it’s an advanced trail. Rock Island is mostly popular with bikers, although hikers do tend to ascend the lower portion as a shortcut to the other Table Rock mesa trails. Linked up with lower Tram trail, Rock Island is one of the best technical descents in Boise. Watch for signs indicating that downhill riders have the right of way on certain sections, contrary to normal trail etiquette.
