Bob’s is a classic Boise creekside trail. Check out Bob’s if you’re tired of the smooth, buffed and arguably homogenous singletrack that is so abundant around Boise. Bob’s is littered with rocks that will keep you on your toes, including one notorious rock step-down that’s sent more than one mountain biker over the handlebars. Bob’s is a perfect grade—not too steep and not too flat—but despite that fact, mountain bikers tend to ride only downhill on Bob’s. Hikers and trail runners are more likely to climb it, however, so watch your speed and keep your eyes open.
Recent Trail Reports
February 2, 2021 at 2:12 pmA few very short soft spots (1-2 feet) that you can bunnyhop if you’re carrying speed. The rest is excellent.
April 20, 2019 at 8:39 pmSmall standing water spots on 4/17 but overall awesome dirt. Creek is raging and crossings are deep. Be ready to get your feet wet! Trail has some significant erosion from the winter and spring that add to the technicality of some sections.
March 29, 2019 at 4:00 pmSome muddy spots still as of noon 3/29. Should continue to dry out and be in good shape for the weekend. The creek is deep right now.

January 15, 2019 at 8:58 amSome slimy spots just below the park bench even at 30 degrees. Probably best to just avoid unless there's a good freeze.
January 7, 2019 at 9:19 pmOut and backs are okay at this point. Connecting to 8th st early may be okay. Turn back if it get slick.

Hiked up the lower portion from cul-de-sac to Urban Connector. Just a few moist spots near the creek, but otherwise dry. 8th Street connector dry, although a lot of gravel.
Riding nice today even after all the rain yesterday.
Hiked Bob’s -> Urban -> Highland loop today at 9:30 AM. Trails are 99% dry and in great shape.
Tried to climb bobs this afternoon and it was to muddy to make it to the park bench. Needs a few more days to be able to ride after it thaws.
Just a bit of hard snow remnants on the top of Bobs this morning. The rest was solid dirt with the freeze but likely not rideable above freezing till we get more drying.
Hiked Bob’s -> Urban -> Highland loop today. Trail is snow packed most of the way, but the east facing aspect of Urban in the canyon is getting muddy (as of 11 am). The upper Urban trail has between 8-12 inches of snow on it. After a deep freeze tonight it should all be good tomorrow.
No snow, trail is very firm with the temps so low. Creek crossing are solid ice tho, watch yourself
Great shape. Ran it.
The creek crossings are full of water, but the trail is in great shape right now.
Bobs is running great, almost completely dry today at lunch, except the creek has water now.
Some soft spots in the low points, but sandy soils has the trail draining well. Snow from this morning is likely all but melted off by now. Trail in good shape and usable if you track through the softer spots.
Some greasy spots toward the upper end as expected, and a few mid-trail but not terrible….
Upper and lower Bob’s was slimy at 1pm today.
