An old-school Boise classic that allows you to feel “out there” in the hills without driving too far up Bogus Basin Road. Corrals trail is fast and scenic, with a mixture of doubletrack and singletrack. Most folks use Corrals in a counterclockwise direction. Makes a popular loop when combined with Highlands and Bob’s.
Recent Trail Reports
- July 13, 2020 at 2:05 pmSeems like some maintenance is needed since there are a lot of ruts on the lower part, presumably from the heavy rains. Otherwise good to the junction with Scott's.
- April 7, 2020 at 9:24 pmAs of Sat (April 4) there were a couple muddy spots here and there due to seasonal seeps and recent rains, but otherwise the trail was okay overall. My only real concern is, with three gates to open along the route, the possibility of contamination of touching surfaces is certainly something to think about. Wear gloves; also keep apart from people, etc. and do all those things people are doing now to stay healthy.
- March 12, 2020 at 12:17 pmCompletely dry.
- March 9, 2020 at 6:37 amJust a little soft on the north facing climb, but we weren't leaving tracks, so I think it is good to go.
- January 22, 2020 at 10:29 amWay more ice and snow than I expected even on the lower trails. Lots of big drifts on corrals and crest line was like an ice rink. Frozen mud lower down will be a mess once it thaws.
- April 21, 2019 at 3:51 pmA handful of puddles through most of it. The 2nd and 3rd downhills going clockwise are soft in some corners, but ride-able without trail damage.
- March 11, 2019 at 10:19 amFrozen mud this morning with lots of little streams trickling across the trail. Avoid if not frozen solid.

Completely dry.

Solid glassy ice at the second gate. Not passable at this point.
Corrals is a mix of ice, packed snow and deep snow! SO beautiful out there just be prepared for the mixed bag of conditions!
Getting a little loose and rutted in spots, but otherwise good
All dried out and riding good this morning.
Excellent condition overall a few muddy spots kind of slippery when you’re climbing the north-facing slope to the top of Corrals but other than that perfect condition. Should be all dried out by this afternoon unless we experience more rain. There are some cattle on the Northside of Corrales looks like the fence is down at the Corrals hard guy gate. Just keep on the lookout coming around corners.
In great condition. One small muddy spot. Some ruts from the rock pile to Bob’s trail head. But they are not very wide or deep.
Pretty good. Near Bogus Basin Road there’s plenty of hard crusted damaged sections. On the east portion of the loop (the downhill if traveling clockwise) there are one or two small muddy spots you can hop over.
Sitting at work wanting to ride this afternoon anyone know how the trails are? Mud? or still pretty dry?
Rode up this yesterday from the W trailhead up to the Y and turned onto Scott’s. Scott’s was muddy towards the end….It’s raining now so I have a hunch everything is going to be mud…..
Rode this AM and it was all pretty good except Ughhh! Walked some of that part and it was okay but would be leery of ridding it the whole way up or down.
Accessed from highlands and it was really bad. We had to turn around and cut the ride short. Super muddy
Frozen mud down low, then deep untracked snow and drifts by the top.
tried to access Corrals from 8th st at lunch. Snow patches are fine but then there was significant mud, so did not attempt
A few little drainage ruts to keep you on your toes. Otherwise all clear.
Rode Corrals tonight, as previously stated just a few puddles from drainage but not muddy. Great riding shape as of 2-1-18.
Corrals is in good shape this afternoon even though it is wet from the melting snow. Stay on the trail through the softer stretches; the rest of the trail is pretty firm and draining well.
