Clear trails for the most part, but may run into occasional puddles or stretches of muddy areas. It is encouraged to go through puddles, and not around them. Also to turn back on long muddy stretches that damage or widen trails.

It’s been called a death march, “sucky peak,” and many other things under the angered breaths of those suffering their way to the top. It’s steep, it’s loose, it’s long, and it’s more of a dirt road than a trail. But the sense of accomplishment is real when you reach the pine trees. If only there were a fun way down, it would be worth the pain.

  • Mtnbkrdr98 April 19, 2021 at 2:33 pmDid Homestead to Lucky Peak today. Stopped and turned around at snow line which is at about 2600' right now. Tough climb - very loose and sandy in many spots requiring pushing. Heavy wind gusts today make for a bit sketch descent.
